How to Reset a Neff Tumble Dryer

A reset can clear temporary faults and restore normal operation.

🧹 Clean the lint filter first — Many Neff tumble dryer faults are caused by a blocked lint filter. Clean it thoroughly before attempting a reset — in many cases this alone resolves the issue. Clean the filter after every single drying cycle.

How to Reset Your Neff Tumble Dryer

Turn the tumble dryer off using the power button.

Switch the appliance off at the mains wall socket.

Leave the machine unplugged for at least 2 to 3 minutes. This allows the control board to fully discharge and reset.

Plug the machine back in and switch it on at the mains.

Select a new programme and press start. If the fault was temporary, the machine should run normally.

Thermal overload reset
If the dryer has overheated due to a heavily blocked filter or condenser, a thermal overload cut-out may have tripped. After cleaning the filter and condenser thoroughly, carry out the power reset above — in many cases this resets the thermal cut-out and restores heating. If the dryer still does not heat after cleaning and resetting, the thermal overload device itself may have failed and will need to be replaced by an engineer.
