Why Is My Beko Washing Machine Not Filling With Water?

When a Beko washing machine fails to fill, the cycle cannot start or progress correctly. Beko machines display E04 or E08 when a water inlet or supply fault is detected. Before investigating further, check whether an error code is showing on the display.

Common Causes

Water supply tap turned off or not fully open
The most common cause. The tap supplying the washing machine must be fully open. It is usually located behind or beneath the machine.

Kinked or blocked inlet hose
If the water inlet hose is kinked or blocked, water cannot flow into the machine freely.

Blocked inlet filter
A small mesh filter at the water inlet valve connection can become clogged with debris and restrict water flow. This is a very common cause of E08 on Beko machines.

Faulty water inlet valve
If the inlet valve has failed, error code E04 will typically be displayed. Water will not enter the machine even if the supply is fully open.

Water level sensor fault
If E07 or E13 is displayed, there is a fault with the water level sensing system that will require professional attention.

Checks To Try Before Calling An Engineer

Check the water supply tap
Ensure the tap on the supply pipe behind or beneath the machine is fully open.

Check the inlet hose
Inspect the water inlet hose for any kinks or crushing and straighten if necessary.

Clean the inlet filter
Turn off the water supply. Disconnect the inlet hose from the back of the machine. Remove the small mesh filter from the inlet connection, rinse under running water and refit before reconnecting the hose.

Reset the machine
Switch off at the mains and leave unplugged for a few minutes. Plug back in and restart the cycle.

When To Contact A Professional

If the fault persists after checking the supply, hose and filter, the water inlet valve or water level sensor is likely faulty and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified engineer. Internal components should only be inspected or repaired by trained professionals.
