What the F13 Fault Code Means

The F13 fault code indicates a water intake fault related to the heater pressure switch — the machine is not receiving sufficient water during a fill step for the pressure switch to register correctly. Like F12, Miele advises that the most common cause is a blocked inlet filter at the water supply connection, which can be cleaned by the user.

Common Reasons This Fault Appears

Blocked inlet filter
A filter inside the water intake valve connection at the back of the machine can become clogged with debris from the water supply, restricting flow.

Stopcock turned off or partially closed
If the water supply stopcock is closed or not fully open, the machine will not receive enough water to fill correctly.

Kinked or blocked inlet hose
A kinked, crushed or blocked water inlet hose can restrict water flow into the machine.

Low water pressure
Unusually low household water pressure can prevent the machine from filling at the required rate.

Safe Checks You Can Try

Check the stopcock
Ensure the water supply stopcock is fully open.

Clean the inlet filter
Switch the dishwasher off and disconnect from the mains. Close the stopcock. Unscrew the water intake valve connection from the stopcock. Remove the seal from the screw connection. Using combination or pointed pliers, carefully take hold of the plastic filter bar and remove the plastic filter. Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water. Re-insert the filter and seal, ensuring both are seated correctly. Screw the connection back onto the stopcock securely. Slowly open the stopcock and check for drips — tighten the connection if necessary.

Important: The plastic housing of the water connection contains an electrical valve. Do not dip it in water.

Check the inlet hose
Ensure the inlet hose is not kinked or crushed behind the machine.

Restart the dishwasher
After completing the above checks, switch the machine back on and restart the programme.
