Common Causes
Low or empty rinse aid
Rinse aid is essential for drying performance. It reduces the surface tension of water so it runs off dishes rather than forming droplets that leave dishes wet.
Eco or energy saving programme
Many modern eco programmes do not use the heated drying phase to save energy. Dishes will air dry more slowly on these programmes.
Incorrect loading
Plastic items retain water and will always need hand drying. Bowls and cups loaded facing down can collect water.
Faulty heating element
If the heating element has failed, the water will not get hot enough to aid evaporation during the drying phase.
Faulty NTC temperature sensor
A faulty temperature sensor can prevent the machine from reaching the correct drying temperature.
Checks To Try Before Calling An Engineer
Top up the rinse aid
Fill the rinse aid dispenser. Increase the rinse aid dosage setting if dishes are still wet.
Select a hotter programme
Try using a higher temperature programme that includes a heated drying phase rather than an eco programme.
Unload the bottom rack first
Always unload the bottom rack first to prevent water from the top rack dripping onto dry dishes below.
Check loading
Ensure cups and bowls are loaded at an angle so water runs off rather than collecting in the base.
