Bush Error Codes Related To Spinning
If your Bush washing machine is displaying an error code alongside the spin fault, use the links below to find out what it means.
Bush Error Code E03 — drainage fault preventing spin
Bush Error Code E01 — door not shut or door lock fault
Why Is My Bush Washing Machine Not Spinning?
When a Bush washing machine fails to spin, the laundry is left saturated with water at the end of the cycle. The machine may complete the wash programme but skip or cut short the spin. Bush washing machines display E03 when a drainage fault is preventing the spin cycle. Check the display for any error codes before investigating further.
Common Causes
Unbalanced load
The most common cause. If laundry is bunched together on one side of the drum, the machine will detect excessive vibration and reduce or cancel the spin to protect itself.
Drainage fault
A Bush washing machine will not spin if it cannot drain the water first. If E03 is displayed, check the pump filter and drain hose.
Overloaded drum
An overloaded drum prevents the laundry from moving freely, which can prevent the machine from reaching spin speed.
Door not fully closed
The machine will not spin if the door lock is not fully engaged. If E01 is displayed, check the door is firmly closed.
Worn carbon brushes or motor fault
On older Bush machines, worn carbon brushes can cause the motor to lose power and fail to spin the drum at the required speed.
Checks To Try Before Calling An Engineer
Redistribute the load
Open the door and rearrange the laundry evenly around the drum. Select a spin-only programme and try again.
Clean the pump filter
Located behind a small cover panel at the bottom front of the machine. Place towels beneath it before opening. Twist anticlockwise to remove, clear any debris and refit securely.
Check the door
Ensure the door is firmly closed and nothing is caught in the seal.
Reset the machine
Switch off at the mains and leave unplugged for a few minutes. Plug back in and try a spin-only programme.

When To Contact A Professional
If the machine still fails to spin after the above checks, the fault is likely mechanical or electrical and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified engineer. Internal components should only be inspected or repaired by trained professionals.
