Why Is My Bosch Washing Machine Not Spinning?
When a Bosch washing machine fails to spin, the laundry is left saturated with water at the end of the cycle. The machine may complete the wash programme but skip or cut short the spin, or stop mid-cycle. Most common causes include an unbalanced load, a drainage fault or a motor issue.
Common Causes
Unbalanced load
The most common cause. If laundry is bunched together on one side of the drum, the machine will detect excessive vibration and reduce or cancel the spin to protect itself.
Drainage fault
A Bosch washing machine will not spin if it cannot drain the water first. Check the pump filter and drain hose if there is water still in the drum.
Overloaded drum
An overloaded drum prevents the laundry from moving freely, which can cause the machine to struggle to reach spin speed.
Door not fully closed
The machine will not spin if the door lock is not fully engaged.
Faulty motor or brushes
A fault with the motor or worn carbon brushes can prevent the drum from spinning at the required speed.

Open the door and rearrange the laundry evenly around the drum. Select a spin-only programme and try again.
Clean the pump filter
Located behind a small cover panel at the bottom right of the machine. Place towels beneath it before opening. Twist anticlockwise to remove, clear any debris and refit securely.
Check the door
Ensure the door is firmly closed and nothing is caught in the seal.
Reset the machine
Switch off at the mains and leave unplugged for a few minutes. Plug back in and try a spin-only programme.
