What the E02 Error Code Means
The E02 error code indicates that the water level inside the drum has not reached the minimum level required to cover the heating element. If the machine continues to operate with insufficient water, the heating element could be damaged. The machine will stop automatically after a period of time if the issue is not resolved. Note that it can take up to 10 minutes for an error code to register after the fault occurs.
Common Reasons This Error Appears
Water supply tap not fully open
The most common cause. If the tap supplying the washing machine is closed or only partially open, the machine will not fill with sufficient water.
Water supply interrupted
A temporary interruption to the household water supply can cause E02 to display.
Kinked or blocked inlet hose
A kinked, twisted or blocked water inlet hose can restrict or prevent water from entering the machine.
Blocked inlet filter
A small mesh filter is located at the water inlet valve connection at the back of the machine. This can become clogged with debris over time and restrict water flow.
Low water pressure
If household water pressure is unusually low, the machine may not be able to fill at the required rate.
Safe Checks You Can Try
Check the water supply tap
Ensure the tap supplying the washing machine is fully open.
Check the inlet hose
Inspect the water inlet hose at the back of the machine for any kinks or bends. Straighten if necessary.
Clean the inlet filter
Turn off the water supply tap. Disconnect the inlet hose from the back of the machine. Inside the connection point on the machine you will find a small mesh filter — remove it carefully and rinse under running water to clear any debris. Refit and reconnect the hose securely before turning the water supply back on.
Reset the machine
Unplug the washing machine from the mains socket. Hold down the Start/Pause button for 10 seconds. Wait 30 seconds then plug back in and try again.
